Saint Petersburg - Zenit Arena

As befits the status of a former capital, the final of the Confederations Cup will take place at St Petersburg’s recently constructed stadium. Located on Krestovsky Island, site of the old Kirov Stadium, it will have a capacity of around 110,000 spectators.
The structure was designed by award-winning Japanese architect Kisho Kurosawa and takes its inspiration from the form of a spaceship. It stands seven storeys tall and the inclusion of a retractable roof and sliding pitch means that it can function year-round – even in the depths of a harsh Russian winter.
This modern arena will be home to Zenit St Petersburg but will multitask as a venue for concerts, shows and a whole host of other sports.
