Victory Day in Moscow (CB-38)
Moscow is an incredible city year-round, but this exclusive six-day tour offers a rare opportunity to witness Russia’s Victory Day celebrations firsthand. This powerful national holiday honors the defenders of the Motherland and pays tribute to those who fought in World War II. With the Soviet Union having suffered over 20 million losses, Victory Day holds deep historical significance, and the atmosphere in Moscow during this time is truly unforgettable.
Since Soviet times, a grand military parade has been the highlight of Victory Day, featuring different branches of the armed forces, cutting-edge military equipment, and breathtaking aviation displays. This longstanding tradition not only showcases Russia’s military strength but also serves as a solemn remembrance of the sacrifices made for victory in 1945.
During your extended stay in Moscow, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the city’s rich history and culture. You’ll visit legendary landmarks like Red Square and the Kremlin, take a scenic boat cruise along the Moskva River, and tour a museum dedicated to the war’s heroes.
Important Note: Your accommodation is at the five-star Hotel National, a historic gem designed by Russian architect Alexander Ivanov in 1903. While it was previously part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, it now operates independently. On Victory Day, Red Square is reserved for veterans and government officials, with surrounding areas closed to the public. This tour provides the best available viewing point of the parade columns as they march toward Red Square. While access to the square itself is restricted, you’ll be able to watch the impressive procession from the hotel’s public areas, such as the restaurant, which offers a prime view of the main street. You may also choose to step outside to watch from the street, but security restrictions may limit access to the area. For an even better experience, you have the option to upgrade to a room with a street view.
